Laisa Bellomo Johnson - Artist
Laisa Bellomo-Johnson is an art educator and artist who works primarily with mixed media and traditional photographic techniques. She has a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is currently in the MAT program at Maine College of Art and Design, in Portland.
Laisa's work is a meditation on the nature of identity, an exploration of the relationship between mind and body, body and the world. Born in Peru but growing up equally in Brazil and the United States, her work is an expression of the complex relationship of a life lived between geographical and cultural realities. As an educator, Laisa strives to bring awareness to the power of art to inform and celebrate each student's personal stories.
In her free time Laisa enjoys outdoor adventures such as climbing, hiking and camping all around beautiful New England.
