PINHOLE MEDITATIONS

Around 2010, I started using a 4x5 large format pinhole camera, in various locations in New England. This was around the time when I started learning about different Buddhist philosophies and different meditation techniques.

I enjoyed how the process of pinhole photography became a meditation in its own right. Due to the nature of a pinhole camera (with no lens and no viewfinder) I'm not privileged to what the camera "sees". This means I have to sit, fully taking in the moment, the light, the scene, not only before taking the actual photograph but also during the exposure since it can take up to several minutes.
